We're all for enjoying our MX5s in the real world but there's good news if you want to enjoy a Mazda from the comfort of your sofa too. And a recent addition to the car line-up in Gran Turismo Sport on the PS4 has got us particularly fired up!
If you've already got the game you'll be aware new cars are added on a regular basis, ranging from exotics to racing and classic cars alike. Gran Turismo already got in on the 30th-Anniversary fever with the addition of the standard Mk1 Eunos Roadster a little while back but the arrival of this souped-up Touring Car version got the gamers among us properly excited.
Inspired by a virtual MX5 first seen in Gran Turismo 5, the Roadster Touring Car is an imagined Mk1-based racer with a cool widebody look, racing tyres, roll cage and uprated engine with 205bhp. According to the in-game stats it weighs just 795kg and - at least virtually - goes and sounds like an absolute pocket rocket.
Using Gran Turismo Sport's 'livery editor' you can of course customise it with a colour scheme, wheels and stickers of your choosing too. See here for our quick effort. If you've got Gran Turismo Sport and some time on your hands we'd love to see what you can create - share the fruits of your labour with us at @MX5Parts on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook! And if anyone feels inspired to build a REAL Mk1 MX5 to a similar spec we'd love to see that too...
