Here's What You Need To Know About Our New SuperPro Suspension Bushes
Whats wrong with rubber? Rubber has traditionally been used for automotive suspension bushes. It has the advantages of being low cost, is easy to work with, it can be used for a wide variety of applications and is able to provide a level of insulation between steel components. However, it has some significant disadvantages:
- Rubber is vulnerable to abrasion
- Rubber will deteriorate when exposed to ultra-violet light and water
- Rubber will deteriorate when exposed to chemicals such as oil, petrol, salt, antifreeze, and other solvents and airborne contaminants.
Why Polyurethane? In contrast, polyurethanes, especially those manufactured using cold pour/thermo-setting processes, can be resistant to all of these problems and retain its original shape. The result is a suspension bush which will last a lot longer than rubber and will perform consistently throughout its life:
- Better road-holding
- Constant steering geometry
- Increased tyre life
- More responsive steering
- Longer service life of suspension components
- No increase in Noise, Vibration or Harshness (NVH)
Why Superpro? SuperPro has the largest range of aftermarket polyurethane bushes available and are currently manufacturing nearly 7000 products at their own facility in Brisbane, Australia. The benefits of using aftermarket components is that each product is designed from the ground up to exceed standards as a standalone component, rather than as a subordinate component of a larger module (as seen in OE engineering). SuperPro embraces the concept of developing a higher quality, quieter, longer lasting alternative to standard rubber bushings. All SuperPro products:
- Are made from SuperPro's own proprietary special elastomer-based engineering- grade polyurethane formula
- Exhibit the best characteristics of both rubber and plastic materials due to their unique formulation
- Are a superior alternative to rubber; providing higher-quality quieter, longer lasting bushings with no increase in NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness)
- Have superior abrasion resistance to rubber
- Have excellent memory properties
- Are unaffected by extreme temperatures, oils and coolant
- Are not constrained by OE design constraints (mass-production costs, warranty and vehicle assembly factors)
